Crossing the Unknown charts Art de Leon’s voyage through sculpture as one might traverse unmarked terrain. His resin works, bound with cement and epoxy clay, carve out cliffs, caves, and waters, landscapes where peril and promise coexist side by side. Each form becomes a metaphor: the cliff as risk, the water as possibility. Together, these elements whisper the fragility of ideas, the faltering of plans, and the quiet revelations born from both.

Threaded through these terrains are individual figures of clay, fragile yet resolute. These represent fragments of the artist himself, ever-curious, stepping forward with hesitation and wonder, asking whether disparate elements can converge into wholeness. The presence of his subjects recalls the innocence of beginnings, when the world was vast and questions outnumbered answers.

Art’s body of work, becoming both journey and mirror, invites the viewer to consider the crossings humanity must take, into uncertainty, into vulnerability, into the unshaped realms of imagination, where courage is found not in knowing, but in daring to step beyond it. Ultimately, the exhibition reveals a truth both intimate and universal: to create, as in life, is to wander, to risk, and to keep moving toward the unseen.
